Pre-Event Management
Event Chief -- ???
Requests and Recruits Calgary Free-mo members for all other Committee positions
Monitors all activities to ensure schedule and actions.
Venue Liason -- ???
Liaison with the Ag Society and the BBQ people
Long term assignment year over year
Registrar – Richard Beyko
Issues Call For Modules
Handles Registration
Treasurer – Adrian Weleschuk
Collects and Receives Participation Fees
Pays all expenses related to the event
Monitors the Donation Box (Or assigns someone to do so)
Layout Designer -- ???
Receives the list of participating modules and arrival times from the Registrar
Designs the Layout
Modifies the Layout as changes in module availability occur
Signal Specialist -- ???
May not be a Calgary Free-mo member
Works with the Layout Designer to optimize the positioning of signalled and detected Module
Will be expected to be the Signal Chief during the Setup.
Electrical Designer – ???
Designs the Electrical Setup
Solicits Boosters, LNRPs and other Electrical Equipment for the Setup
Setup Dinner and Potluck Organizer -- ??
Receives Participant Numbers and Potluck Attendees and Dishes from the Organization Chief
Determines supplies and food needed for the Thursday Night Setup Dinner
Issues Requests for specific Potluck items if necessary
Group Assets Transportation -- ??
Arranges Transportation for the Group Assets
Arranges Loading Crews for Pickup before the event, and unloading after the event.
Setup Management
Setup Chief – ???
Recruits Setup Crew Chiefs and Crew members
Oversees the positioning of modules and assigns layout setup sections to Setup Crews
Electrical Chief – ???
Recruits Electrical Crew Chiefs and Crew members
Oversees the positioning of the electrical equipment and assigns layout setup sections to Electrical Crews
Assigns Running Testers to run short trains through completed sections to ensure good operability.
Running Management
Duty Ops – – recruited from all participants (many needed)
Management of the Layout Operations for a shift (TBD: e.g. Morning, Afternoon, Overnight)
Responsible for managing any running or electrical issues for a Run Chief Shift
Relies on Setup and Electrical Crew Chiefs to handle specific issues that need special attention.
Authorizes Daily Passes – collects funds to pass to the Funds Manager
All other interactions other than running trains – eg venue, visitors, attendee conflicts, etc
Duty Run Chiefs – recruited from all participants (many needed)
Management of Running Operations of the layout for a shift (likely 2 hours during the day, longer overnight).
Ensures that fluid movement of trains is maintained, especially at junctions.
Controls the number of trains on the layout – can ask someone to stop operating if the layout Is crowded and they have been on for a longer period than most other operators.
